Procedure for Consideration for a final discretionary attempt at an assessment
Provision for a final Discretionary attempt is set out in the Programme Regulations and Schemes of Assessment for the courses listed on this page.
For Tooting Campus Students
The University has recently updated the process and procedure regarding third attempts at assessments.
Please note that MBBS and MBBS international students can only apply for one discretionary attempt for the duration of the MBBS programme.
Students who fail an assessment at resit (second attempt) will be considered in accordance with the Procedure for consideration for a final discretionary attempt at an assessment (PDF).
Please see individual Programme Regulations and Schemes of Assessment for progression requirements for your course.
If you are eligible for a third and final attempt at an assessment, your programme team will inform you via your university email address. You will need to accept the offer within 5 working days. It is your responsibility to respond to emails from university staff and to familiarise yourself with the programme regulations and scheme of assessment for your course.
