studentID

As a City St George’s student you are required to always carry your ID card with you. Here is everything you need to know.

Your University ID is your campus essential - it shows you're part of City St George's, gets you into buildings, and helps keep everyone here safe. Find out why it's worth carrying and our frequently asked questions including what to do if you've lost your card.

Why carrying your University ID matters

Wearing it visibly helps you:

  • Get into buildings and move around campus easily
  • Get to class without delays
  • Show you're part of the City St George's community
  • Keep campus safe for everyone

Campus Security are on duty 24/7 to help keep students safe and protect the University's premises. Security may ask you to present your ID card. It's a quick check that helps make sure everyone here belongs.

Thank you for playing your part in keeping yourself and others safe.

Collect a free lanyard

Please wear your University ID card visibly while you are on campus. A lanyard or clip on card holder makes this easy.

Collect a free lanyard from City St George's Security Office located on the first floor of University Building or from the Students' Union located in Drysdale Building Level 2 (follow the signs from the Student Support Hub).

Check visitors

Avoid holding doors to restricted areas open for people you don't know. If you feel that a person is trying to gain entry behind you and they don't have a University ID card on display, let a member of staff or security know. You will find key contacts on the back of your ID card.
