Take your Annual Survey

Surveys are a great chance for you to tell us your thoughts on your student experience at City St George's - what we can do to improve, but also what we’re doing well so we can continue doing it.

Which survey should I complete?

Depending on your level of study and your course, you will be asked to complete one of the following upcoming surveys:

  • Final-year undergraduate students - National Student Survey (NSS) - Open now until 30 April
  • Postgraduate taught students - Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) - 2 February to 12 June
  • Postgraduate research students - Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) - next running in 2026/27
  • Penultimate-year undergraduate students - Closed for 2025/2026

Complete the NSS (Final-year undergraduate students)

The National Student Survey is now open for 2025-26.

The survey is open to all final-year undergraduates and is the largest student survey across the UK.

From now until 30 April, the University, your School, department and Ipsos will be in touch to encourage you to share your thoughts.

The information gathered helps us identify what we are doing well and what needs improving and implement real changes to improve the experience of all our students.

You can complete the survey via the NSS website.

As a thank you, all eligible students will be in a prize draw to win one of 22 Graduation Packages*. Each package includes:

  • Free Gown hire 🎓
  • Two VIP guest tickets ⭐
  • A professional photography package, including a ceremony photo and studio photography 📸

*The Graduation Packages cannot be exchanged for a cash alternative and are only eligible for the Summer Graduation ceremonies taking place in 2026. In the event a winner is not eligible or does not wish to attend a Summer Graduation ceremony in 2026, an alternative prize of the same value will be provided. Should a winner already have purchased any items included in the Graduation Package, they can be refunded. However, the £1.50 admin fee that was applied to the purchase is non-refundable and will be deducted from the total refund amount. All winners will be notified by email from City St George's, University of London.

Complete the PTES (Postgraduate taught students)

PTES is the largest single source of feedback specifically for postgraduate taught students at City St George's, it provides us with the most comprehensive insight into what you need, which then helps inform our decisions as a University.

To complete the survey, you will need to enter a username and password. Your username is your student ‘Student Number’ and your password is the last three digits of the same number. You can find your Student Number on your City St George's Student ID card.

For example, using the Student ID card below, Jane Smith's username is: 012345678 and her password would be: 678.

The survey is open now until Friday 12 June, and as a thank you, City St George’s is offering the chance to win one of the following prizes:

  • 50 x £10 Love2Shop voucher
  • 20 x £25 Love2Shop voucher
  • 10 x £50 Love2Shop voucher

Surveys are just one of the many ways you can share your feedback. You can still share your thoughts and feedback with us at any time during the year via our GetHeard platform, both for Clerkenwell and Moorgate students, and Tooting students. Just log in with your University details and you're all set to go!

Need support?

For each level of study, there is a different annual survey for students to complete. These will take place across different points in the year and are indicated below.

Why does City St George's use surveys?

Feedback from students is essential to inform the development of City St George's courses and to help shape all aspects of the learning experience.

We actively seek and encourage you to give us your views and online surveys are one of the main ways that we do this. The better the response rate to surveys; the better the collective views of students are represented.

What happens to the feedback I provide?

Your feedback will be considered by your programme team so that we can identify what we are doing well and what we need to improve. We will also tell you what changes we are making as a result of your comments.

When the surveys are closed and the data is collected, it is circulated to programme teams and the Students' Union who work on action plans and improvements based on your feedback. You may also see the collective feedback of you and your peers at Student Staff Liaison Committees, and Annual Programme Evaluations which are available on request from your programme director or programme administrator.

Results for NSS are publicly available to prospective students, their families and advisors to help make informed choices of where and what to study. The NSS results are also available through 'Key Information Sets' (KIS), which are published on the websites of universities and colleges and the UNISTATS website. The survey is administered by Ipsos Mori, an independent market research agency. PTES and PRES is not published but Universities received confidential information about their performance against sector benchmarks.

Are my responses anonymous?

Yes, every response made by a student is anonymous. We only need your registration number for log-in purposes and so that no student does the survey twice. Please also look at 'Where does my feedback go?' below.

Why can't I log in to complete my survey?

If you think you’re eligible to complete a survey, but haven’t been sent a link or cannot log in, please see below for some of the reasons you may not be eligible to complete the survey this year:

  • If you began your course in January or later in the academic year
  • If you aren’t working towards an award or attend only specific occasional modules
  • If you’ve suspended your studies at any point this academic year
  • If you’re returning to your studies part way through the academic year after a suspension of your studies
  • If you’ve not fully completed your registration (both online and in-person)
  • If you’re taking part in distance learning (learning online where you’re not required to attend lectures on campus)
  • If you’re currently on placement year or a study abroad year

If none of these apply to you, please let us know and we'll investigate for you.

Why is a high response rate needed?

The better the response rate; the better the collective views of students are represented. We want to make sure we get as much feedback from all students to ensure we have a balanced view. Your Voice is run as an internal survey at City St George's and the NSS, PTES and PRES are all external surveys that other institutions are also involved in.

In order to get the results of the surveys, we must reach a minimum threshold of 50% for NSS and 10% for PTES and PRES. No survey results will be made available to individual programme teams unless they get a certain number of responses; your participation is therefore really important to your programme.

Merging legacy City and St George's resources

As we bring together resources for Clerkenwell & Moorgate (legacy City) and Tooting (legacy St George’s) students, some content may be specific to one campus and not the other. For the most relevant information, try using specific keywords or exploring content related to your department. If you need help, our support teams are available to guide you.

Clerkenwell & Moorgate students can use Support@City

Tooting students can contact studentlifecentre@sgul.ac.uk.
