Free Language Courses for Business are now available to Bayes Students

Published Thursday, 10th September, 2026 in Bayes Business School

We know that graduates with language skills are more employable in an already competitive job market. This is why we would like to offer Bayes students the opportunity to study a foreign language alongside your degree for free.

On these courses, the language is taught in the context of Business. You will develop and improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills as well as your understanding of the structure of the language. To make the syllabus more relevant to you, some of the vocabulary and topics will be related to the world of Business and Finance.

What languages we’re offering

  • Spanish – Beginner, Lower Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced
  • French – Beginner, Lower Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced
  • German – Beginner, Lower Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced
  • Mandarin – Beginner and Lower Intermediate
  • Japanese – Beginner
  • Arabic – Beginner

If you are a Bayes student who is interested in a learning one of these languages, you can visit the link below and follow the instructions to sign up. If you already have some knowledge of the language you’re wanting to study, you will have to do a short test so we can see what level to place you in.

Sign up for a language course here.

If you successfully complete the language course, you will be given a language certificate from the University, but the language option does not count towards your degree.

More information is available on the Bayes website here. There will also be an information session during induction week - please check your induction timetable for details.

The deadline to apply for our courses is Friday 2 October 2026 at 5pm.

If you have any questions, you can contact the Centre for Languages at languages@citystgeorges.ac.uk (Please state “Business School Undergraduate” in your email subject).
