As part of the University's Pride Month celebrations, the Office for Institutional Equity and Inclusion (OIEI) and the LGBTQIA+ Community Inclusion Committee (LCIC) have launched Our Stories, Our Pride.

Our Stories, Our Pride is a storytelling campaign sharing and celebrating the voices and experiences of LGBTQIA+ students and staff at City St George’s.

The campaign centres real stories, lived experiences, intersectional identities and everyday moments from across our community.

Throughout Pride Month, LGBTQIA+ students are invited to contribute personal reflections, stories or creative pieces. These submissions will be featured on the campaign webpage, helping to build a wider picture of identity, belonging and community at City St George’s.

Asma, Co-Chair of the LCIC, has shared their own story as part of the campaign, reflecting on identity, faith and lived experience, and the importance of creating spaces where people feel safe to be themselves. Read Asma's full reflection.

How to get involved

If you would like to take part in the campaign, you can submit your story using the online form.

Contributions can take many forms, including written reflections or creative pieces. You do not need to be a writer – the most important thing is sharing your experience in a way that feels right for you.

The campaign is open throughout Pride Month, with the potential to continue as an ongoing annual initiative.

All submissions will be reviewed to ensure they meet the submission guidelines by OIEI and LCIC representatives.
