How to book tickets
The booking system will open in late-March, and invitations to register will be issued by email (to students' City St George's and personal email addresses).
We strongly advise that you do not book any travel/accommodation until you receive your official email invitation.
There will be a limit on the number of guest tickets that students can book in the first instance. Any remaining guest tickets will be made available for sale after the registration deadline of 25 June 2026.
You will receive an email (around 1 – 2 July 2026) with instructions on how to purchase additional guest tickets should any be available for your ceremony. If there are any further unsold guest tickets after this process is complete, then these will be available to purchase from the ticket collection desk (box office) at the Barbican on the day of your ceremony on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please book your graduation place even if you have not yet received your results. Most students are invited to graduation before they are officially awarded. Students are invited on the premise that they should be awarded in time; however, if you do not achieve your award in time, you will be notified, refunded the full amount for your tickets and gown hire, and invited to a future ceremony (once you have been successfully awarded).
Students eligible to attend ceremonies this summer are those who have/are due to receive awards between mid-January and the end of June 2026 (processed and updated on the student records system - SITS).
The final deadline date for registration is 25 June 2026.

I haven’t received a graduation invitation email, what should I do?
If you expect to be awarded by the end of June 2026 and have not received a graduation invitation email by 13 April 2026, please check with your department/Course Officer and ask them to email the Graduation Team.
What happens if I am late for my graduation ceremony?
Any late arriving graduands will be allowed to join the ceremony as long as the presenting of graduands is still in progress on stage, but will be seated separately and presented at the end of the ceremony. Graduation ceremonies are typically extremely busy, and we therefore cannot guarantee entry for latecomers. It is imperative that you arrive on time – no later than 9.15am for a morning ceremony and 1.15pm for an afternoon ceremony.
The ticket collection desk (box office) at the Barbican will close for ticket collection at 9:40am (for morning ceremonies) and 1:40pm (for afternoon ceremonies). If you arrive after this time, you will be deemed a latecomer and moved to the end of the ceremony (as described above).
I do not need any guest tickets; can my friend buy them in addition to their own?
No. Guest tickets can only be purchased by the graduand up to the maximum allocation at that time. This ensures fairness in the availability of guest tickets for all participants. Guest tickets cannot be swapped between graduands. Only the graduand themselves can collect their tickets from the ticket collection desk (box office) at the Barbican.
