Welcome Talk - Introduction to BSc SLT
Activity Details
In this session, the Divisional Lead, Corinne Moffatt, and the Programme Director, Robin Lindop-Fisher, will introduce you to the course, explain what to expect, and outline how you will learn throughout the year.
The session will cover teaching and learning methods, essential technology, access to resources such as Moodle and timetables, campus safety, expectations for on-campus study, opportunities to build a student community, and the future direction of the course.

Peer Networking & Skills Exchange Workshop
Activity Details
This interactive workshop will introduce you to Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) activities through a series of engaging sessions. Students will rotate through staff-led stations, taking part in icebreakers and SLT-related tasks. The workshop is designed to encourage peer connections while providing practical examples of introductory SLT activities.
Students will start in different rooms. Your allocated starting room will be confirmed at the beginning of the day.
If you have your OH appointment during this time, please find Valia in Room C317, and she will help you identify which room to join.

Campus Tours
Activity Details
Join a campus tour to familiarise yourself with the campus. Tours are available every 20 minutes and last approximately 30 minutes.
If you are unable to join a tour at this time, you can take one on another day during a break or after completing your mandatory activities. Tours will depart throughout the day from the University Building, the Level 1, Walkway, between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm every day from 29 September to 2 October.
A 30-minute drop-in tour is available at any time between 14:30 and 16:00.
This activity is optional, but it will help you become familiar with the campus and make navigating the University easier.

e-Learning for Health (eLFH) Mandatory Training
Activity Details
As your programme includes clinical placements, you will need to complete a range of online training modules, known as e-Learning for Healthcare (eLFH), before you can be cleared for placement. This is in addition to the required DBS and OH clearances.
Computer rooms have been booked from 09:00 to 13:00 so that you can begin your mandatory e-LfH training with support from a tutor and your peers.
Please note that this is not a half-day session. It is a drop-in session, and you may attend at any convenient time between 09:00 and 13:00 for a few hours to begin your training. Please attend either before or after your Introduction to Technology session.

This reflective activity is designed to help you evaluate your experiences during the week and plan for the upcoming term in the BSc SLT programme. It comprises five questions to which you should respond briefly. Your answers are visible only to staff, mainly you year Lead, Valia Kladocuhou, who will review them to offer support and enhance future induction activities.
