CitySport Open Day

Activity Details
CitySport are excited to welcome new and returning students to experience an action-packed day. Entry will be free, activities taking place on the day will include badminton, pickleball and basketball in the sports hall. A chance to experience our newly refurbished state of the art gym including brand new Hyrox functional area. Tours will be happening throughout the day every 30 minutes. There will be lots of freebies to pick up on the day.

Information Session for Student on a Student Visa

Mandatory session for new students on student visas only, ie. students who have been issued and used a City St George’s CAS. This will be an interactive session on main principles of Student Visa route, students’ roles and responsibilities as sponsored Student Visa students and any relevant advice and guidance from a specialist team. The session will cover Graduate Immigration Scheme. There will be opportunities to ask questions and interact with fellow international students.

Digital Skills training sessions

These two sessions are exclusive for SST’s new postgraduate students. This session is aimed at students who already have their University email and log in details so you can access our systems and platforms. The session includes a mixture of information sharing about the vital digital skills support available to you and time for you to practice using our systems and apps needed for study, including our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Moodle, where you will be introduced to the Learning with Moodle module which will support you with your studies at City. The session will be run by the Student Digital Skills Team who will be on hand to support you and answer any digital support related questions you may have. Some students prefer to bring the device they will use for studying to the session (e.g. Laptop/tablet), however, there will be computers available in the room.
Sign-up is required. Only sign up for one session, either 11:00-12:00 or 12:10-13:10, not both.

Big Hello from Student Support Services

Join teams from City, the Students' Union and external providers to find out how they can support your learning, health, wellbeing, career and more. This is an opportunity for students to come and meet the teams, play some games, get some freebies and make friends! A quiet hour will run from 11am-12pm. Please drop by anytime from 11am to 2pm.

Students’ Union SST School Dean’s Meet and Greet

This event is intended to welcome new students and help them become familiar with the school while building early connections with their peers. It will include a mix of activities such as games, sports, video games, and crafts to encourage interaction and engagement. A welcome speech will be delivered by the School Dean to introduce key information about the school.

Once you have activated your IT account, you should receive an invite to complete these within the following week. If you have already done this, then you are not required to do so again, but referring to the modules in the future is always a good idea to refresh your knowledge.
