Be the first to test out our new AI Assistant
Help us improve student support by testing our new AI assistant
We are exploring new ways to help students find information and access support more easily, and we would like you to be part of the process.
City St George's, University of London is piloting a new AI-powered assistant called KnowBot, designed to help students navigate university information quickly and naturally. The tool is intended to make it easier to find answers to common questions, locate relevant guidance and discover services and opportunities available across the University.
City St George's and Bayes Business School are collaborating with Mike Hudson Foundation to provide an AI chatbot service on our website. Knowbot is a smart AI tool for nonprofits that reads City St George's websites and answers questions about the University.
Whether you want to find out more about the University, understand where to access support, explore opportunities to get involved in student life, or simply need an answer to a question, the assistant is designed to point you towards the information you need.
You can find KnowBot on the City St George's Student Hub, and on the About section of the Bayes Business School website.
Why can't I see KnowBot and the Ask Me! Button?
You have to opt in to Cookie consent for Statistics purposes, you can do that using the "Cookies" link in the footer of either the City St George's Student Hub or Bayes website.
When testing the tool, you might want to ask it questions you would normally search for on the City St George's Student Hub and Bayes websites. You can also try asking the same question in different ways to see how it responds.
For this reason, the assistant will provide links to the relevant City St George's webpages
We want to hear from you
Before the tool can be developed further, we would love our audience to try it out and tell us what they think.
Testing the assistant should only take a few minutes. You do not need any specialist technical knowledge; and we are particularly interested in hearing about your experience as a user.
Your feedback could help us identify areas where the assistant works well, highlight information that is difficult to find, and improve the way responses are presented.

How does the AI assistant work?
The assistant uses artificial intelligence to interpret questions written in everyday language and provide relevant answers based on information available from City St George's online resources.
Rather than simply returning a list of search results, it is designed to provide a conversational response and direct users towards information that may answer their question.
This could make finding information quicker, particularly when you are unsure which part of the website contains the guidance or service you are looking for.
Checking information remains important
As with all AI-powered tools, responses may not always be completely accurate or provide the full context needed for a particular situation.
For this reason, the assistant will provide links to the relevant City webpages and other source information wherever possible. These links allow users to check the original information and find further detail before making decisions or taking action.
Your feedback will help shape the next stage
This pilot is an opportunity to understand how an AI assistant could complement the University's existing ways of providing information and support.
By testing the tool and sharing your experience, you can help us understand what is actually needed from this type of technology and where improvements should be made before any wider rollout.
